Bill Silvestri, president of Silvestri Construction, learned his trade at the knee of his father, William Silvestri Sr., who built many quality custom homes throughout New Hampshire. Bill not only learned the ins and outs of the construction process, but also a deep sense of honesty and integrity. Bill was formally trained at the Wentworth Institute and at Arizona State University. Bill's wife, Karen Silvestri, is an interior designer with her own design business. Bill and Karen are extremely active in their community. Bill is an active member of the Home Builders Association, the Salem Chamber of Commerce, and the Knights of Columbus. Bill and his family recently undertook the renovation of the lower level of St. Joseph Church in Salem. A hand-carved statue of St. Joseph was recently dedicated at the church in honor of the Silvestri family and their great efforts on behalf of the church. "My basic belief is that if you do right, ultimately, it will come back to you. I have taught this to my children, and that the main thing is to always be able to look the world square in the face an never be ashamed of anything you've done." The lesson has been well learned by the Silvestri children.

Bill's son has set out to follow in his grandfather's and father's footsteps. Christian Silvestri has been learning about the construction process since the tender age of eight. His grandfather would pick up Christian at 4 a.m. and bring him to the job site, where he would teach him how to drive the equipment. The entire Silvestri family gathered to watch the eight-year-old's backhoe driving debut. That summer, Christian was a part of the framing crew and has loved building ever since. During summers, Christian learned the many aspects of building by learning from the many experts that help build a Silvestri home or building. When Christian was in high school, he began to learn the ropes of construction management. Christian attended the Wentworth Institute and holds several building- and real estate-related degrees and licenses. Christian, now vice president of Silvestri Construction, has already established an impeccable reputation in the building industry.

The process begins with extensive research. Before Silvestri acquires property, they do their homework on the area. Building a neighborhood is something Bill and Christian take very seriously. "We don't just build homes, we build neighborhoods-neighborhoods that will carry the Silvestri name for hundreds of years. We take that responsibility seriously; quality cannot be compromised.' Many hours are spent compiling demographic and environmental data about the site, working with planning boards to plan an environmentally sound and aesthetically pleasing neighborhood. Extra efforts are made to plan the neighborhood around the existing foliage and natural resources. "We've made a commitment to the area, and we fully intend to keep it," Bill and Christian agree.

After the acquisition of land, Silvestri Construction works with award-winning architects to design homes and buildings that are both beautiful and practical. Silvestri brings their hands-on experience to each and every project. They have an understanding of what works in a home, a condominium, a church, and in commercial buildings. Silvestri has many award-winning designs available for their customers to choose from and modify. Silvestri is also developing a system to sit down with customers and help them see their home design on their CAD system. This allows the customer to plan their home, see how it will look, and make any necessary changes before construction begins.

Once construction begins, communication between the customer and Silvestri is closely maintained. Customers are welcomed on the site, and frequent tours are given to assure customers the building is coming along as planned. Changes can be made at earlier stages before expensive change orders need to be made. Silvestri has spent many years working with clients, and knows how to treat them. "I care about people, about our buyers. If they have any problems, we fix it. I know that people don't always remember the good things, they always remember the bad things.
